Paul Middleton, MD

Director, South Western Emergency Research Institute (SWERI)

Professor Paul Middleton is a specialist in prehospital and emergency medicine, having worked as part of helicopter trauma and critical care retrieval teams in both the UK and Australia. He is the immediate past Chair of the NSW branch of the Australian Resuscitation Council, was founding Director of the Ambulance Research Institute and spent several years as Medical Director of the Ambulance Service of NSW.

Paul is Director of the South Western Emergency Research Institute (SWERI) and Chair of the new Australasian Emergency Medicine Epidemiology Network (EDEN). He has associate professorial positions at the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales, and Western Sydney University.
